Dealing with urban fringes in cities across The Netherlands is a recurring and fascinating theme in our office and design practice. These areas, often located at the edges of cities, hold incredible potential to be transformed into vibrant, dynamic, and future-proof parts of the urban fabric. When done thoughtfully, they can contribute to a livelier, more diverse city. In this lecture, we’ll explore various projects from three different locations, each highlighting a range of themes— from urban planning concepts to architectural details— all while preserving the original atmosphere and character of these areas.
