On the parking lot of the iconic VB building in Eindhoven, better known as the former Philips headquarters, a residential project is being developed for Trudo: five fully timber residential buildings providing a total of 200 social housing units. Never before has a social housing project of this scale in the Netherlands been constructed almost entirely from CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber).
During the excursion we will start at our office where we will introduce our firm and share more about the VB-Boschdijk project. We will discuss the design of the project and the structural challenges involved. Afterwards, we will head to the construction site to see the project taking shape and take a closer look at the timber structural elements. We will end the day with a drink at Strijp-S.
